Story

Hi there!

For the past few months I’ve been volunteering with an organisation called Rough Edges in Darlinghurst. Every second Monday night I go there to work in the community space to serve food to the patrons who are experiencing homelessness.

Rough Edges is a drop in centre for people who are disadvantaged, marginalised and experiencing issues of homelessness?

On Friday the 25th of October, I’m taking part in the roughtober sleep out. We will be sleeping outside, ‘sleeping rough’ for the night in order to support their cause. 

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to the charity. Thanks so much for your support!

    St John's Community Services Limited (Rough Edges)

    St John's Community Services Limited was established to fund and maintain a number of targeted services for the disadvantaged and marginalised in the Darlinghurst and Kings Cross area. Including:

    Rough Edges Cafe - a place for the street community to have a coffee, enjoy a free meal and spend time together in a safe and welcoming environment

    Banksia Women -  a safe, judgement free space for women who have experienced domestic and family violence

    St Johns Legal Service - we contract a solicitor to assist those needing help with free legal services and referrals

    Community Assistance and Partnership Program (CAPP) - hospitality and practical assistance is provided by social workers for those seeking to exit the cycle of poverty
